JOB SUMMARY
Poznecki-Camarillo is seeking a Texas Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) with project management experience to join our team. The RPLS will manage or be a task leader on primarily Transportation, municipal and utility survey projects.
Poznecki-Camarillo is a mid-sized firm that has successfully tackled projects with increasing size, complexity, and range of services. Founded in 1981 as a land surveying and engineering firm, we have consistently and carefully added new services and staff as needed. In addition to our flourishing surveying and civil engineering departments, over the last decade we have developed bustling public involvement and environmental practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Lead project teams and survey field staff to accomplish task assignments and deliverables related to survey projects
- Perform legal research, analysis and boundary and right of way resolution.
- Perform in-process quality control of survey field activities, calculations, and project deliverables.
- Provide guidance and oversight to the project team to ensure tasks and quality deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and within scope
- Sign and seal surveys, maps, and survey-related documents as the professional responsible for survey and mapping projects
- Communicate survey findings, projects status, results and deliverables with clients and team members.
- Perform business development and proposal preparation.
- Develop business relationships with existing and new clients for the firm with an emphasis on cultivating, managing and maintaining superior client relationships.
- Communicate with internal staff, subs consultants, prime consultants, stakeholders, and governmental agencies
- Provide field assistance by conducting site visits and/or assist crews in the field when necessary.
EDUCATION
An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying, Mathematics, Forestry, Geology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Valid registration as a Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) in the state of Texas or hold a Professional Surveyors’ License in another jurisdiction and able to gain reciprocity in 6 months.
- Over 4 years of progressive experience in managing survey projects, demonstrating growth in leadership and project execution.
- Proficient in MicroStation or AutoCAD.
- Proficient in using Civil 3D, MS Office, and MS Project, with hands-on experience applying these tools to support project planning, design, and execution.
- Experience and knowledge in working on highways, capital improvements, and government projects.
- Solid experience and expertise in conducting boundary surveys, ensuring accuracy
- Skilled in the technical development, training, and mentoring of survey team members, fostering growth and enhancing team performance.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, effectively engaging with employees at all organizational levels.
- Collaborative team player, contributing positively to group dynamics and goals.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- TxDOT Precertification in survey categories.
- 10 years of experience as a survey project manager, including 5 years specifically within the transportation industry.
- Proven experience in business development, marketing, and networking within the Texas marketplace, driving growth and building strong professional relationships.
- Proficient in Trimble Business Center, with hands-on experience using Terrestrial and Aerial Lidar technologies for survey data collection and analysis.
