I-35 from Guadalupe River to Comal/Hays County Line (TxDOT)

Role: Prime   |   Agency Client: TxDOT, San Antonio District

Poznecki-Camarillo, Inc. (PCI) was contracted by TxDOT for preliminary engineering services for the operational improvements on I-35 in New Braunfels, TX that had an overall project length of 9.5 miles. The purpose of the project was to improve the mobility and safety along I-35 within the project limits. The project consisted of converting the existing two-way frontage roads into a one-way operation from Kohlenberg Road to the Comal/Hays County Line, relocating entrance and exit ramps, providing grade-separated interchange improvements at four intersection locations (Kohlenberg / Conrads Lane; a new location between Kohlenberg / Conrads Lane and Watson Lane; Watson Lane; and York Creek / FM 1102), and evaluated the need for operational improvements, including innovative intersection alternatives at three major cross-street intersections with I-35 (SH 46 / LP 337; Business I-35 at I-35; and FM 306 / Creekside Crossing). Includes IAJR approval.
