Red Berry Estate Hike & Bike Salado Trail Connection

Under our On-Call Environmental Contract for the City of San Antonio, PCI prepared an environmental assessment of the Red Berry Estate and surrounding property in 2018. Due to the use of federal grant funds, the City needed federal environmental clearance for the proposed construction of the Salado Creek (Greenway) Hike and Bike Trail extension, a pedestrian bridge, an entry road, a parking lot, lake stabilization, and drainage improvements. As part of the studies, PCI prepared and conducted an 84-acre archaeological survey, tribal coordination with seven tribes, and recommended the Red Berry Estate as individually eligible for the National Register of Historic Places. The Estate continues to be historically significant to the San Antonio area with its colorful past and rumored hauntings!
