Poznecki-Camarillo is looking for a Subsurface Utility Engineer (SUE) Technician to be part of field crew responsible for locating and designating buried utilities using geophysical technologies and applications, ensuring safety, accuracy, and effective communication during field operations. This position requires technical knowledge, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safety standards. This position plays a role in utilizing advanced geophysical technologies to designate buried utilities, interpret subsurface information, and ensure safety while working in the field.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Act in a safe manner at all times and follow safety protocols and plans.
- Operate various electromagnetic locating equipment to locate and mark underground utilities with accuracy and precision.
- Research utility company records and perform field observations to gather necessary data on utility locations.
- Comprehend project goals, scope of work, and client expectations to meet objectives efficiently.
- Provide accurate documentation, sketches, and records related to completed locates and field findings.
- Operate company vehicles in a safe manner, maintain a professional appearance, and ensure the vehicle is properly maintained.
- Perform manhole entry using assigned equipment and safety devices, adhering to all safety guidelines.
- Perform work in all weather conditions, including normal and after-hours work, as necessary.
- Be available to travel out of town as required, including overnight stays.
- Be willing to work overtime and weekends to meet project deadlines.
EDUCATION
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- 0-4 Years of experience.
- Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record (no exceptions).
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy – this role has very little room for error.
- Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions effectively.
- Dependable with punctuality and excellent attendance.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, and overtime/weekend work when necessary.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods.
- Ability to travel overnight for job assignments.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Associate’s degree or higher preferred
- Previous experience operating electromagnetic utility locating equipment.
- Experience reading and interpreting utility plans/prints.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience working in Subsurface Utility Engineering or related field is a plus.
