JOB SUMMARY
Poznecki-Camarillo is looking for a CAD Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for providing CAD support to the Survey Division on both government and private projects. The CAD Technician will work under the supervision of the Director of Surveying and/or Project/Production Managers. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing drawings and designs using Civil 3D and/or MicroStation or OpenRoads for project plans, documents, reports, and exhibits.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Prepare and/or revise plans, profiles, and detailed drawings and exhibits within company standards from redlines for a variety of projects utilizing CAD software
- Analyze sketches, notes and other input material to determine and plan the best approach to develop and complete drawings with minimal supervision
- Coordinate and communicate with project team to meet overall project objectives and deadlines
- Performs project CAD tasks and assignments
- Understand and use established company standards for drafting including layer names, line and character styles, drawings and window names, and file names for sheet layout
- Analyze sketches, notes, and other input material to determine and plan the best perform production and assembly of project deliverables
- Maintain organized work area to allow access of project information by other team members
- Flexible in work assignments and team assignments
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- At least 1 year experience in CAD production for Surveying and/or Civil Projects.
- Highly skilled in ACAD/Civil 3d,
- Proficient in MicroStation, Excel, and Word
- Willingness to learn new software packages
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written, across all levels of the organization
- Strong sense of time management and ability to prioritize and manage tasks on concurrent assignments in a fast-paced environment
- Must be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice and/or on a daily basis as changes occur in project needs
- Ability to contribute to a positive team environment
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with people in various roles with different leadership styles across all levels of the organization
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
PREFERED REQUIREMENTS
- MicroStation/Open Roads working knowledge and experience
- Associates Degree in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design/Applied Science
- Experience with collaboration software (ProjectWise, Bluebeam, etc.)
