JOB SUMMARY
Poznecki-Camarillo is looking for an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our team. This position is responsible for providing support to engineers for state and local roadway and highway infrastructure and land development projects. The EIT will work under the supervision of Engineer(s) and be responsible for developing designs, plans, and specifications using MicroStation, GEOPAK and Civil 3D for project plans, documents, reports, and exhibits.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Works closely with and provides support to project engineers to develop detailed designs, plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates for transportation, sewer/water, drainage, and other infrastructure projects
- Applies engineering principles, methods, and techniques
- Performs research, calculations for designs, and formulating possible results based on different scenarios
- Familiar with appropriate regulatory requirements and specifications for roadway and other infrastructure projects
EDUCATION
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Minimum 0-2 years relevant work experience
- Certified Engineer-in-Training or able to sit for the EIT exam within 1 year
- Experience with at least one computer package, i.e. AutoCAD or MicroStation
- Possess an understanding and knowledge of applicable codes and regulations
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
- Strong sense of time management and ability to prioritize and manage tasks on concurrent assignments in a fast-paced environment
- Must be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice and/or on a daily basis as changes occur in project needs
- Ability to contribute to a positive team environment
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with people in various roles with different leadership styles across all levels of the organization
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
PREFERED REQUIREMENTS
- Masters in Civil Engineering or related field
- Certified Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in the State of Texas
- 2+ years’ experience with federal, state, and local transportation projects
- Working experience in roadway, sewer, water, or drainage project
- Working experience with MicroStation and GEOPAK and/or OpenRoads
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience with collaboration software (ProjectWise, Bluebeam, etc.)

Working conditions are primarily in a mixed office and home-based setting with occasional requirements to operate a company vehicle and perform site visits.
