I-10 HOV Managed Lanes, from FM 3351 Ralph Fair Road to La Cantera Parkway

PCI prepared an environmental assessment and provided public involvement support on this high-priority project for the expansion of I-10 to eight lanes with HOV lanes between FM 3351 to La Cantera Parkway – the first in San Antonio. As a result, this was a complex project due to public controversy, location within the Edwards Aquifer Recharge Zone, potential impacts to Waters of the U.S. at two bridge crossings and to three federally endangered species. Due to its proximity to Camp Bullis, the project also required coordination with military officials. Despite its accelerated schedule, PCI’s ability to quickly turn around documents from Public Hearing to the FONSI – 6 weeks – broke a two-year state record!
