US 69 & SH 73 Turbine (Spiral) Interchange

PCI designed this featured, multi-level turbine interchange in 2020 – the second of its kind in Texas – through coordinated services in civil engineering, public involvement, and surveying. The turbine interchange was designed to replace the existing cloverleaf interchange, reducing construction cost from $125M to $70M. Despite project challenges like soil conditions, numerous gas line crossings, historical flooding, wetlands, and complex geometry, PCI completed schematic and final design within two years to meet TxDOT’s funding schedule.
