Lena Camarillo joined Poznecki-Camarillo in 2008 to establish the Environmental and Public Involvement Departments. She serves as Executive Vice President with over 30 years of expertise in the application of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), agency coordination, and community engagement, and is known throughout Texas for her successful leadership on environmental and public involvement efforts for federal, state, and municipal transportation projects. She is the former Director of the Sims Bayou Urban Nature Center and a biologist for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, where she was a contributing author of Texas Wildscapes: Gardening for Wildlife (1998, UT Press). Lena served on the Boards of the San Antonio Mobility Coalition (SAMCo), San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Family Violence Prevention Services, Inc. and Women in Transportation Seminar (WTS-SAR). She encourages aspiring leaders through her membership with Leadership San Antonio and the Alexander Briseño Leadership Development Program as well as the firm’s mentorship program. Lena is passionate about inclusive public engagement and environmental transparency that considers all views and seeks to understand.
